In 1973, the Supreme Court handed down its Roe v. Wade and Doe v.Bolton decisions legalizing abortion in all 50 states during all nine months of pregnancy, for any reason, medical, social, or otherwise.

The vast majority of all abortions performed today are done for social, not medical reasons — because a woman doesn’t feel ready for a baby at the time, because her partner wants her to have an abortion, etc.

 Approximately 93% of all induced abortions are done for elective, non-medical reasons such as these.

 Abortion ends a pregnancy by destroying and removing the developing child. That baby’s heart has already begun to beat by the time the mother misses her period and begins to wonder if she might be pregnant (about 31 days after the mother’s last menstrual period or LMP).

Surgical abortions are usually not performed before seven weeks, or 49 days LMP. By that time, the baby has identifiable arms and legs (day 45) and displays measurable brain waves (about 40 days). During the seventh through the tenth weeks, when the majority of abortions are performed, fingers and genitals appear and the child’s face is recognizably human.  (North Carolina Right to Life)

What does the Bible say about child sacrifice? Is an aborted child a sacrifice to the god of this world (Satan)?

Deu 12:31  Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. 

Eze 16:20  Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter,  Eze 16:21  That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them? 

Psa 106:37  Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils, 
Psa 106:38  And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.  

2Ki 17:17  And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. 
2Ki 17:18  Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.

Exo 23:7  Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.  

The Supreme Court's decision to legalize abortion brought about a reproach to the United States of America.  Proverbs 14:34  Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. Judgement will come from God to the United States unless the majority of people in the U.S. repent. Ninevah repented and God spared them for about one hundred years.

Recently, the states of New York and Virginia passed legislation that will legalize abortions from conception to actual birth. Shame on those legislators who passed those bills and the governors who allowed those abortion bills to become law.
